Get ready for a wonderfully serendipitous mix of beloved childhood toy and television nostalgia. Samuel Hatmaker's love of Golden Girls recently manifested itself into a wonderful pitch for a new Lego set on the toymaker's ideas platform. "This is a recreation of the Golden Girls house used in filming the popular 1980s show that is still watched daily around the world. It is the foyer, living room, and kitchen built like a TV set, with one wall removed and a full view into the space. It comes with five minifigures including Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, Blanche, and Stanley," Hatmaker wrote in the description of his amazing model. The idea took off like a rocket, both on the Internet and IRL. Fans including Ellen DeGeneres championed that the proposed project become a reality. Just 28 hours after Hatmaker put his project on the site, it received the 10,000 votes needed for an idea to be placed before the Lego review board, which sounds like a wonderfully official toy governing body to which we would like to be elected. If selected, the Goldern Girls Lego set could be put into production to become official Lego merchandise.   "If this isn’t a reason to make a Lego movie sequel, I don’t know what is," Ellen joked in her Facebook post about the proposed G.G. Lego set. Honestly, what are you waiting for, Hollywood? Let's make the Golden Girls Lego Movie a reality ASAP, and then sell Hatmaker's models as official merch. And to Samuel Hatmaker, thank you for being a friend. Your heart is true; you're a pal and a confidant. (LEGO)
