Chrissy Teigen has already secured a permanent spot in our hearts as "Celebrity We'd Most Like to Eat KFC With." She's down-to-earth, funny, and has a killer Real Housewives opening line on retainer. But, our hearts beat a bit faster for the Twitter-famous model yesterday when she posted the above photo to her Instagram. In the caption, Chrissy gives a shoutout to her stretch marks. That's right — the girl who is routinely photographed half-naked for Sports Illustrated has stretch marks, just like many of us. And, she's not ashamed of them.
The picture isn't exactly out of left field. Chrissy has always been open about her body and its place in the industry. In an interview with Huffington Post two years ago, she spoke out about how she isn't under the same amount of pressure to be waif-thin as those girls "walking the runways of Milan," and how she feels lucky because "we're going into a different time" when it comes to body image.
Whether or not that's true, Chrissy's snap does poke the tiniest of holes in the smoke screen that is "perfection" on Instagram. Other models may blur out their marks with the help of filters. Chrissy decided to say to the world, "Hey, I've got these things, too. And, guess what? That's totally fine." We can acknowledge them and move on to more pressing matters — like that spinach-artichoke dip she also posted a pic of over the weekend. Mind sharing, girl?
