Kate Bosworth Proves Fringe Isn’t Just For Festival Season

If you need a primer on the '70s renaissance in fashion, look no further than Kate Bosworth's closet. The actress may have skipped the fringe at this past weekend's unofficial fringe convention, otherwise known as Coachella, but she cashed in all those unused outfit points while out in New York yesterday. Undoubtedly inspired by all the suede she came across over the weekend in Indio, as well as the four-decade throwback dominating this season, Kate stepped out in an open leather topper with groovy, tasseled sleeves. The rest of her ensemble gave an on-trend nod to the '70s right down to her toes. In lieu of a skinny fit, Kate opted for looser flared jeans, paired with a flowy, appropriately boho top under the aforementioned suede number. The retro influence trickled down to her accessories: Her patent, slingback flats, leopard-print Giambattista Valli bag, and tortoiseshell specs resembled treasures you could find buried deep in your grandparents' closet or at a sweet flea market.  Kate clearly doesn't abide by festival conventions, and wears fringe on her own time. This, in turn, gives us a couple of ideas on how to incorporate some stringy suede into our off-duty wardrobe — even if we're not hitting up Coachella this weekend for round two. See how you can cop Bosworth's style, below.
