We’re Feeling The Force In This Trailer For Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Disney has unleashed the first full-length trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it's a
doozy. The trailer was unveiled at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, where
fans waited overnight for their first glimpse at the newly awakened Force. (In fact, so many devotees waited overnight
that director J.J. Abrams and producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy
actually bought pizzas for everyone.)

The trailer shows off a trio of new characters, as well as
some familiar old faces. Daisy Ridley plays a scavenger named Rey who meets up
with John Boyega's Stormtrooper Finn. Then there's Oscar Isaac's mysterious
X-Wing pilot, Poe Dameron. There's also a little peek at Adam Driver in full
bad-guy mode.

The trailer tops it off with Harrison Ford as Han Solo, who
turns to his fuzzy pal Chewbacca and says with a smile, "Chewie, we are
home."

The trailer unveiling was followed by a Q&A with Abrams,
Kennedy, and the three stars, as well as Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony
Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and a slew of Stormtroopers.

The team behind the new generation of Star Wars promises that there's something for everyone this time
around. When moderator Anthony Breznican of Entertainment Weekly asked Kennedy which character she'd want to be, she replied: "I don't have
many choices, but that's going to change." She then added: "Going forward with
all we're talking about, there are going to be a lot of wonderful new [female]
characters." Speaking of awesome female characters, we can't wait to get
a look at Gwendoline Christie, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Lupita Nyong'o in action.

Star Wars: The Force
Awakens
opens on December 18, 2015.
