The first footage of the Nepal earthquake and subsequent avalanche has emerged from Mount Everest, and it's terrifying to see.
The video, shared on German climber Jost Kobusch's YouTube page shows two men filming and saying, without realizing what is going on, “The ground is shaking.”
Suddenly, you see several figures running and what appears to be a huge cloud of ice heading towards the cameraman. It's chilling.
The men run for cover behind a tent and are engulfed by the cloud. Outside reports that it appears the men were on the downvalley side of the avalanche and were coated in rime but spared the brunt of its force.
Kobusch captioned the video "The ground was shaking from the earthquake and as soon as we saw people running we were running ourselves to save our lives."
