Olivia Palermo Sets New Sartorial Standard For NYC Dog Owners

"Dressing down" is not a phrase that exists in Olivia Palermo's vocabulary. The conventional off-duty jeans-and-tee look is somewhat lost on the street-style phenom, who pulls out her best pleated culottes for a simple stroll around the neighborhood. Even the most routine items on Palermo's schedule, like walking her adorable pooch, Mr. Butler, are wardrobe opportunities. We're certainly not complaining; all this makes Palermo an endless source of sartorial inspiration. Over the weekend, Olivia spent some quality time with her four-legged friend. Her ensemble checked off all the boxes that make for a practical dog-walking outfit: warm layers for a long stint outside, and leggings and comfortable sneakers for easy mobility and possible chasing. With her signature touch, Palermo made the simple outfit feel distinctly chic. She layered a sleek, streamlined blazer-coat over her much more casual sweatshirt and chambray shirt (tied around her waist). The leggings had a shiny leather finish — a far cry from the yoga pants we might throw on to take our pups out. Her high-tops had a slight wedge to them, because a little height never hurt any #OOTD. And, of course, the accessories added welcome dose of seasonal color in the form of springy florals, dusty-gray sunglasses, and a sophisticated burgundy crossbody. (Not to mention, Mr. Butler looked quite dapper himself in his turtleneck.) Sorry, Dakota Johnson — you tried, but Olivia reigns supreme at the dog park. See how you can recreate Palermo's look, below.
