What Our Favorite Met Gala Stars Wear Off The Red Carpet

Awards show season may be receding quickly in the rearview mirror, but spring's most anticipated red carpet event is nearly upon us. This coming Monday, the Upper East Side — or, at least the lower East 80s around the park — will come to a standstill as celebrities and fashion fixtures come out to celebrate the opening of the latest exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, "China: Through the Looking Glass."  For those of us unable to gather the pocket change to attend the Met Ball this year, we seize this opportunity to cheer on our favorites as they waltz up the museum's stairs, decked out in gorgeous designer duds. We've already gotten a sneak peek of who we can expect to see Monday evening. And, as excited as we are to see our favorite designers repped on the red carpet, we thought we'd gear up for the festivities by highlighting some of the prestigious attendees in their regular, everyday wear. Spoiler alert: They still look pretty darn good.  First up, we have Blake Lively. She'll be taking a well-deserved night off from new motherhood to glam up the steps of the Met (for old times' sake!). Recently, the actress has been serving up her fair share of sartorial inspiration off the red carpet; The Age of Adaline press tour had her donning 10 outfits in one day alone. For a recent stroll around the city, Lively kept her florals neutral, her shoes flat, and her crossbody French. What a dream.

Blake is wearing an Objects Without Meaning dress, Sarah Flint shoes, and a Chloé bag. Never mind the nasty rumors that Anna Wintour once barred the reality star from the festivities: Kim Kardashian is one to watch on the red carpet. Say what you want about her, but we can hardly keep up with her sleek sartorial record. Just take a look at Kim's definition of a spring wardrobe: a neutral palette consisting of olives, mustards, and browns in formfitting silhouettes.

Kim is wearing an A.L.C. sweater and skirt, a Céline coat, and Etro sandals.

Sister Kendall Jenner isn't too far behind. The model made her Met Gala debut last year — wearing Topshop, no less. Though her attendance at Monday's event is still unconfirmed, for the past 12 months, Kendall has been dressing the part for her meteoric rise with a killer off-duty wardrobe, consisting of luxe, forward-thinking statement pieces. Who else could pull off a fuzzy-sleeved sweatshirt with irregularly-draped trousers?

Kendall is wearing a Sally Lapointe top, Marc Jacobs bag, and Saint Laurent heels. Fellow model Karlie Kloss, on the other hand, is confirmed to make an appearance on the red carpet (fingers crossed for more adorable, pre-Met Gala Karlie-Taylor primping Instas this year). When it comes to her off-hours wear, Karlie is, unsurprisingly, very put-together: long, tailored fabrics in navy, black, and blue with very high-fashion accents. The Parisian backdrop could play a role in how chic Kloss looks here — or, maybe she was just born with it.

Karlie is wearing a Louis Vuitton bag. Zoë Kravitz has been a paragon of cool since, well, pretty much always. But, we've been paying extra-close attention to her style lately: From her punk-to-everyone-else's-boho Coachella look to her reimagined Alexander Wang spring business suit, the actress has bubbled up to the top of the list of celebrities we'd like to go shopping with. So, when Us Magazine confirmed she'll be walking the red carpet on Monday, our excitement was palpable. To tide us over, we're revisiting Zoë's classic (and winning) pairing of a crewneck sweater, boyfriend jeans, and tailored coat: If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Zoë is wearing UNIF boots. Sienna Miller is perpetually a red carpet darling. While she can wow in formal wear like no other, the actress' day-to-day duds are much more casual. After all, she had a busy Broadway schedule to keep up with this spring. So, Miller turns to easy florals, oversized cardigans, and lace-ups to get to and fro — not unlike our own routine.
