If we're being honest, the Met Gala isn't typically ever about beauty looks. But, leave it to Cara Delevingne to give us one that made our jaws hit the floor. The model showed up to this year's Gala with some serious (temporary) ink on her arms. And, her chest. And, her neck.
The designs were a smattering of flowers, courtesy of famed tattoo artist Bang Bang — and, from where we're sitting, they look like plum blossoms. The flowers are symbolic in Chinese culture, and they're regularly depicted in the country's art. Plum blossoms, according to CNN, represent resilience and perseverance. So, Cara's choice is pretty apropos, considering this year's Met Gala theme is all about China's influence in fashion.
Along with the flowers, Delevingne's designs also includes little birds and butterflies. They're like next-level flash tattoos. At least, that's what we think they are. We can't imagine Cara being able to stomach that much time in the chair for one event. Although, if there were anyone who could, it would be this chick, right?
