It’s easy to forget that Kardashian fame dates back to a time long before Kim married Kanye and Kylie Jenner’s lips confounded a nation. The truth is that the first famous member of the family was its founding patriarch, Robert Kardashian, who died in 2003.
Kardashian was known for being a close, personal friend of O.J. Simpson — as well as the football player’s defense attorney when he was being tried for the murder of his wife, Nicole Simpson. And, he’s about to make a comeback on the small screen.
American Crime Story, the companion series to American Horror Story, will make its debut on FX in 2016, and the sole focus of the first season will be the People v. Simpson murder trial. The cast is already impressive: Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta, and David Schwimmer are set to star. But, another name just got added to the list that definitely makes us want to tune in: Selma Blair will be portraying a way-back Kris Jenner, who was married to Robert Kardashian at the time of the trial.
While we wouldn’t have predicted this pairing, Blair is absolutely a Kris Jenner lookalike (the dark hair and sparkly eyes totally seal the deal). We absolutely can’t wait to start seeing promos for the series (which is already shooting in L.A.), or to get more insight into the Kardashian origins.
