Rita Ora Is Giving Us Major Summer Hairspiration

If the R29 beauty team can count on one celebrity to keep us on our toes, it's definitely Rita Ora. It seems like she's had every hairstyle — and color — under the sun. Her latest is a gorgeous full head of blondish-gray braids, which she paired perfectly with blue eyeliner, bold brows, and a dark-red pout.  While this isn't the first time the singer's opted for plaits — she's something of an aficionado, trying everything from rainbow braids to fishtails — it's the first time we've seen her with this particular micro style (courtesy of her hairstylist Chris Appleton). Of course, she's not the first celeb to show off the style —  Zoë Kravitz currently has it, and who can forget back-in-the-day, '90s Brandy? As someone who's donned similar braids before, I know from experience that it's a great protective 'do to give your hair a break from excessive styling and manipulating. It's also super low-maintenance and ideal for carefree summers, when you want to protect your mane from harsh humid conditions.  While we're sure Rita won't be keeping the braids for too long, knowing how often she switches up her hair, if they're giving you summer hairspiration, here are some things to know before you get them done.
