The Olsen Twins Aren’t Returning To Fuller House — But These Stars Are

Looks like Michelle Tanner won't be bringing her scrunchies back to San Francisco. Though Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who took turns playing the precocious Full House tot, need only to have played rock-paper-scissors to figure out which one would take over the role on the sitcom's new reboot, they've both decided to pass. As such, Fuller House will soldier on as best it can, no doubt jotting in references to that phantom sibling and creating some elaborate backstory in which the littlest Tanner is off teaching English in Cambodia, studying glaciers in Antarctica, or doing 20 for aggravated assault in a women's prison far, far away. John Stamos tweeted that he was "heartbroken" about the twins' decision, but all is not lost: There are still plenty of Tanners to go around. The Netflix reboot will star Candace Cameron Bure as D.J. alongside middle sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibler (Andrea Barber). Stamos will return as uncle Jesse, Dave Coulier will reprise his role as Joey — brace yourself for the resurrection of "cut it out" jokes — and Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin are in talks to join the show as well.   Maybe Scott Weinger can come back as D.J.'s old flame — assuming that Steve Hale doesn't figure in as the recently dead husband teased in the new series' premise. The show's creators could also always recast the Michelle role. We know there's at least one Olsen who's still acting. (The Hollywood Reporter)
