Caitlyn Jenner Rumored To Be The New Face Of MAC

Update: MAC just released a statement saying that although the brand embraces "all ages, all races, and all sexes, and is a longstanding supporter of the LGBT community," it hasn't signed Caitlyn Jenner as a spokesperson. "We are inspired by Caitlyn Jenner, her personal journey and we admire her courage and beauty," says the release. But, just because MAC hasn't snagged her (yet) doesn't mean another brand won't come in and swoop her up soon.

It's only been a couple of days since Caitlyn Jenner's reveal on that world-shattering Vanity Fair cover, and it looks like she may already be landing major beauty deals. According to speculation spreading like wildfire on the Internet, Jenner could be the face of MAC's Viva Glam campaign in 2016. Grazia UK reports that the brand has been in talks with Caitlyn's camp for a while and, although MAC declined to comment on the circling rumors, it makes sense given its history of diverse collaborations and strong support for the LGBTQ community. If Caitlyn did become MAC's newest face, it would be another gigantic step forward for the beauty industry, which has already made giant strides this year by celebrating and embracing the trans community by appointing trans women like Andreja Pejic, Lea T, and Jazz Jennings as the faces of major campaigns. We hope that more visibility and an open dialogue will only help trans men and women, giving them role models to look up to for guidance and support. So, although nothing's been confirmed yet, we'll be keeping an eye on the story — and crossing our fingers that it actually happens.
