Devoted Gilmore Girls fans can press pause on that Netflix rerun and rock out in the present with Stars Hollow's favorite resident band, Hep Alien. Keiko Agena (Lane), Todd Lowe (Zach), and John Cabrera (Brian) reunited last night for a surprise show at the San Jose Hotel in Austin, treating the audience to covers of Blondie and the White Stripes before launching into a worth-watching-on-repeat countrified version of Beyoncé's Single Ladies.
Fellow band members Sebastian Bach and Adam Brody were unfortunately absent, reports the AV Club, but fear not, Dave Rygalski fans; the character's real-world namesake played bass with the band while Cabrera mimed along.
In town for the ATX Television Festival, the Hep Alien crew will be participating in a hugely anticipated Gilmore Girls panel later today, and we can't wait to see what other magical moments result from it. Reunion rumors have been swirling of late, ever since Scott Patterson, who played the delightfully grumpy Luke Danes on the CW series, revealed last month that "there are talks going on at the moment. I can’t really go into any details, but there is some activity."
Fingers crossed! And in the meantime, here's one more Hep Alien cover you just might recognize. "Where you lead, I will follow."
