Just a few months ago, Gucci's former creative director Frida Giannini and her partner (and then-Gucci CEO) Patrizio di Marco made news by suddenly stepping down from their roles at the company. The move was a surprising shakeup for the storied Italian fashion house at the time, but judging from Gucci's recent resort show, the company has successfully taken a new direction with its latest creative director, Alessandro Michele.
Not surprisingly, Giannini and di Marco have happily moved on, too: They were married in Rome this weekend. Rather than rep her former company for possibly the biggest dress moment of her life, Giannini opted for a pale-pink Valentino gown. Custom-made by the duo's longtime friends (and Valentino creative directors) Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, the long-sleeved design featured sheer lace inserts and delicate embellishments all over. Giannini and di Marco's 5-year-old daughter Greta matched her mom in a bespoke Valentino creation of her own.
There's still no word on the fashion power couple's next professional move, but we're hoping for happily ever after all around.
