35 Songs To Listen To Before Bonnaroo

My how time flies. Bonnaroo is just a couple days away. The 13-year-old music festival held in Manchester, TN has arguably the best lineup of the year, this time starting with classic acts like Billy Joel and Earth Wind & Fire. Between "The Piano Man" and "September," you'd have a great time if those were the only two sets you caught. (Be sure to thank Mom for the introduction.) Of course, the good stuff doesn't stop there. Kendrick Lamar, who's received high praise for his new album, To Pimp a Butterfly, is headlining. That's right, hip-hop heads, don't worry about having missed the talented rapper's spontaneous performance on a moving truck in L.A. in March — he'll be front and center real soon. Flying Lotus appears on the lineup, too. Here's hoping the duo performs "Never Catch Me." Or, maybe Childish Gambino will join them, in which case a new level of freak-out would be attained. Alabama Shakes and Hozier will rep for chart-topping industry newcomers, while D'Angelo and Mumford & Sons are dusting off their mics to share some new and improved material. You're going to have to plan your bathroom breaks very strategically, because the itinerary is rounded out with the likes of Florence + The Machine, My Morning Jacket, Brandi Carlile, Gary Clark Jr., The War on Drugs, Awolnation, SBTRKT, Kacey Musgraves, and Courtney Barnett. If you find yourself strolling the grounds, ready to mellow out with heart-string-pulling singer-songwriters, be sure to check out Bahamas and Gregory Alan Isakov. For peppy pop, tune in for Tove Lo and Betty Who. DeadMau5, Bassnectar, Odesza, Jamie xx, and Sylvan Esso will hold down the fort for the EDM/electronic lovers. That's only half of this year's performers. So, before you head to the farm ready to get your fill of epic guitar riffs, booming bass, and chilling verses, check out the playlist below. As if you weren't pumped enough already.
