Annie Potts has some huge shoes to fill, but Chris Hemsworth is willing to take the risk. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the Thor star will play the receptionist in Paul Feig's all-female reboot of Ghostbusters, a role originated by Potts in the 1984 film. Feig announced the news on Twitter last night. Hemsworth is the first officially announced male star among the film's cast. The all-girl version will star Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon, with Cecily Strong in a supporting role. The remake marks a rare comedic turn for action star Hemsworth, who is currently filming the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman. Will he be able to nail OG receptionist Janine's nasal accent while shamelessly flirting with whomever plays Egon's counterpart? Will he be relegated to office eye candy? Something tells us a slide down that fireman's pole and a shirtless I've-got-ectoplasm-on-my-clothes scene is in the works.
