Warning: Possible spoilers ahead for season 6 of Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones fansite Watchers on the Wall claims to have seen a video of an actress auditioning for a new role on the show's sixth season. The footage was taken down from Vimeo shortly after news of its existence started making the rounds, but a fan was able to transcribe the dialogue. "In the video, English actress Tehmina Sunny read a scene in which a Red Priestess, apparently named Kinvara, visits with Tyrion and Varys in Meereen," Watchers on the Wall reports.
The new Red Priestess appears to worship the Lord of Light like Melisandre, the other Red Priestess. Unlike Melisandre, however, Kinvara believes that Daenerys is "the One Who Was Promised," dialogue in the leaked video reveals. In the scene, Varys references Stannis, Melisandre's pick for the position, strongly implying that the Baratheon brother is, in fact, dead.
The rest of the dialogue finds Varys and Tyrion asking Kinvara for help convincing the people of Meereen to obey Dany's trusted advisors in her absence (which is another spoiler, that Daenerys is still MIA when season 6 begins). Kinvara says, "I will summon mummers and appoint priests. They will spread the word. Daenerys has been sent to lead the people against the darkness…for this war, and the Great War yet to come." Granted, all of this comes from a leaked audition tape that has since been removed. Nevertheless, it wouldn't be the first time that GoT audition sides containing real plot spoilers made it to the public.
In the books, a man named Benerro is the high priest of R'hllor at the Red Temple of Volantis; there's no character named Kinvara. As of now, the only other Kinvaras on the internet are a sneaker by Saucony and a village in Ireland. Welcome to the Kinvara namesake, possible new Red Priestess. [Watchers on the Wall]
