$15 To Stream Every HBO Show Online? Yep

Update: Today July 16, HBO Now is now available for Android and Amazon phones and tablets, with direct support for Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick coming soon. Update: As of April 9th, live Internet TV service Sling TV now also offers $15/month HBO. So now you can also watch on devices like the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, current-generation Roku players, Roku TV models, Xbox One, and Android devices, as well as iOS devices, Macs, and PCs. This article was originally published on April 7, 2015. HBO Now, HBO's standalone streaming service, is available today for iOS and Apple TV owners, as well as Optimum Online customers. Finally — you don't need a cable or satellite subscription in order to enjoy shows such as Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, and Girls. Once you download HBO Now, you'll have access to 2,000 HBO titles, including past shows like Sex and the City and The Wire, and movies such as Divergent and Neighbors. To subscribe to HBO Now, you can download the app on your iOS device, or directly on your Apple TV using your iTunes account. You can then buy a subscription in-app for $15 per month (starting with, for a limited time, a 30-day free trial period). After setting up your account information, you're free to watch your favorite HBO titles on Apple devices or the HBO Now website. If you're a Cablevision Optimum Online customer, you can alternatively get HBO Now by ordering online here. You can then download the app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and log in using your Optimum username and password. As of July 16th, Android and Amazon device owners can now enjoy HBO Now, as well, with the same 30-day free trial and $15 per month price tag. Owners of streaming players like Roku, Xbox One, and the Amazon Fire TV will need to use Sling TV to stream HBO Now for the time being, but direct support for these types of streamers are on the way. (And it's about time!)
