As the old saying goes, "It's 4:20 somewhere." Vulture has dubbed this week "Stoner Week," a celebration of pot's proliferation into pop culture and the mainstream. In one particularly fun roundup that dropped this afternoon, the site asked some of our favorite celebrities about their favorite things to watch when they're stoned. Some of their answers are super obvious. A few of them may surprise you. There are also some intriguing new additions to put on your high-maintenance (pun very much intended) queue.
Then, there's Miles Teller, who revealed himself to be pretty much just like all of us in college. "We used to watch Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Wonder Showzen, Robot Chicken, and play a lot of video games," the actor told Vulture. If you've never laid eyes on an episode of Wonder Showzen, which is basically like Sesame Street filtered through a perverse fever dream and sprinkled with children's nightmares and cynicism; it's on YouTube. You've been warned.
Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer prefer to go a little more colorful. Jacobson, who's also an illustrator, recommended animated shows, and Glazer supplied Adventure Time to be more specific. She also added some more naturalistic show ideas. "Planet Earth is fucking incredible." Jacobson seconded that marijuan-emotion, "[O]r, like, stuff about the world. Cosmos."
Two out of three Workaholics made their way into the roundup with some fittingly oddball suggestions. "The Oliver soundtrack, probably," Anders Holm told Vulture. Maybe having the munchies makes him feel a special connection to the line, "Please sir, may I have some more." His co-star and co-writer Adam DeVine apparently had a transformative experience to Nas' Illmatic after a girl told him it would open his third eye.
Actress Catherine Reitman goes straight for a classic. "Not that I'm condoning it for anyone else, but for me it's all about the movie Clueless. That just feels like checking out and having a good time." Given Cher Horowitz's feelings about how, "It is one thing to spark up a doobie and get laced at parties, but it is quite another to be fried all day," she may or may not take this as a compliment. Then again, Cher Horowitz is a fictional character, so if you're seeing her and heeding her drug-usage advice, you're probably high. (Vulture)
