Time to dust off the old checkbook for a worthy cause: Comedic powerhouse Amy Schumer is raffling off a self-described "disappointing lap dance" to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. To help promote her highly-anticipate comedy Trainwreck, which hits theaters July 17, Universal has teamed up with crowdfunding site CrowdRise for a good cause, offering all who donate the chance to win two tickets to the film's New York premiere (including round trip airfare and hotel accommodations), where you will get to walk the red carpet, have Bill Hader serve you popcorn, and for the grand finale, get a "disappointing lap dance" from the comedy juggernaut herself. A single entry into the raffle costs $10; for a donation of $25 you'll receive three entries and a digital thank you from director Judd Apatow, while for a $50 donation, you'll receive seven entries plus a digital thank you from both Apatow and Schumer. Multiple Sclerosis research is an important issue for Schumer, whose father was diagnosed with MS when she was a child. "It's the most painful thing in the world to just watch this person that you love ultimately just digress and kind of decompose," Schumer first acknowledged on NPR's Morning Edition back in 2013, and in a CBS Sunday Morning interview airing tomorrow, July 5, she credits the strenuous experience for inspiring her humor, telling Mo Rocca "I love to laugh. I seek laughter all the time. I think that's something that also comes with having a sick parent is you don't know what's going to happen and so I'll be like, 'I'm psyched my legs still work.' And I want to, like, experience all I can and make as many memories as I can." The entry period ends on July 6, so take some time this holiday weekend to donate for your chance to win.
