Cold brew coffee fiends, rejoice! We knew the cold brew trend was here to stay when Starbucks tested its own version last year. The chain subsequently expanded its test to a partial rollout in March, and now after a successful run, will officially offer cold brew coffee nationwide. And it's not just during summer months, either. The cold brew coffee is becoming a permanent menu item starting today. Torn about whether to stick to the original iced coffee or the newer, trendier version? Cold brew is made in small batches and brewed for 20 hours, while the original is brewed hot, then iced afterwards. Starbucks describes the cold brew as "smooth, aromatic" and "full-bodied," boasting "chocolate flavors with notes of citrus," while the original iced coffee is "medium-bodied and well-balanced" with "cola and caramel notes." All this talk of iced coffee has us ready for our morning cup of joe, cold brew or not! Want more Refinery29 Food?
