During today's Warner Bros. presentation at Comic-Con, fans of DC Comics lost it over the new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer. Director Zack Snyder was on hand with the entire cast to reveal the exclusive footage to over 6,000 attendees.
Yes, Ben Affleck plays Batman. Henry Cavill — and his perfectly chiseled face — is your Superman. There's plenty of slick footage that sets up the story for why they're mad at each other. But, in the trailer, Gal Gadot was like the shining beacon of hope that at last Hollywood is starting to say hey to the fangirl — well, more like a casual nod. But, we'll take it.
During the panel, moderated by the inimitable Aisha Tyler, Gadot said she sees the Wonder Woman role as a "huge opportunity to show the strong, beautiful side of women, finally." The crowd cheered.
"Wonder Woman has all the strength of a superhero," she continued, "but at the same time she's very sophisticated, loving, and has a lot of emotional intelligence." (Amy Adams later echoed this sentiment of bringing "emotional intelligence" to her Lois Lane character.)
"I feel very privileged to be the one who's gonna bring [Wonder Woman] back to life," Gadot said. "I can't wait." Neither can we!
