Warner Bros. and director David Ayer previewed the first footage for Suicide Squad today at San Diego Comic-Con, producing guttural sounds from the over 6,000 people in the audience. But, that wasn't the biggest surprise Ayer had in store.
Moments after Ayer took the stage, he shared that the cast was about to join him. They'd all flown in from Toronto. (No sign of Jared Leto, alas.) Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, and more joined Ayer as the crowd lost their minds.
"You guys run this shit," Ayer said to the crowd of diehard fans, preaching about the way he's stuck to the comic book canon for the film. "Good versus evil is played out," he added. "It's time for bad versus evil."
The cast couldn't stay long. But, Smith did hop on the mic for a minute to address the fans. "This group right here, we're banging out something that is absolutely fantastic and stunning," he said.
The trailer has not yet been released to the public, but, I did manage to grab this footage of the cast. If nothing else, this crew is giving Taylor Swift and her #squadgoals a serious run for her money.
