Lorde and Taylor are are back.
Swift summoned the Kiwi singer to the stage during her 1989 World Tour in Washington, D.C., last night for a rendition of "Royals." (May we direct your attention to Swift's dance move during the "queen bee" lyric?) The two singers gushed over the moment on social media. Swift captioned a picture of the two on Instagram, writing, "When your friend flies across the world to surprise your crowd with 'Royals' because she's a wondrous angel." And Lorde's caption over on her own page read, "looking over at my girl like 'can u believe this is the kind of fun stuff we get to do for a living' THANKS TAY AND D.C. GETTING TO SING FOR U TONIGHT RULED."
Lorde also added on Twitter: "i'm gonna talk more about the show when i see it in full tomorrow.. be prepared for live tweeting and/or a long reference-heavy tumblr post... but seriously, @taylorswift13 is the leader of a great and beautiful galaxy that i'd live in forever." Copy that, Lorde.

The friendship between Swift and Lorde has long been one of the most fascinating in Swift's squad. Though they got off to a rocky start with headlines about Lorde criticizing Swift and then quickly apologizing and refining her statement, the two then became Shake Shack buddies. Recently, Lorde was spotted in an infamous Instagram with rumored Swift nemesis Katy Perry, but from the looks of it, all is well between Swift and the New Zealand native.
It was an eventful night on Swift's tour, as she also experienced some trouble with the stage, which stopped working, stranding her, according to E!. Swift reportedly took the stage malfunction in stride: "They just told me in my ear that I might be stuck up here forever. This thing is broken," she reportedly said. It did, per E!, get up and running again. Probably because Swift has the ability to magically make everything better.
