CCTV might be an unlikely source for spotting talent, but that's where British department store Harvey Nichols found its cast for this ad to promote a rewards app. The ad uses actual footage from security cameras in its Knightsbridge flagship location. In the video, thieves can be seen not-so-surreptitiously swiping everything from jewelry to men's jackets. The robbers' faces are covered with cartoon mugs featuring exceptionally shifty facial expressions.
Why did the cheeky retailer feature these criminally-minded customers? The app's tagline is "Love freebies? Get them legally." This isn't, however, Harvey Nichols' first saucy ad. Back in 2013, its holiday campaign was entitled "Sorry, I Spent It On Myself." In this latest spot, you'll be in awe of how shameless these (not-so-crafty) criminals are.
