All The Details On Katy Perry’s Brand-New H&M Gig

Exactly one month after Katy Perry announced herself as the star of Jeremy Scott's new Moschino campaign, the singer has bagged yet another major fashion gig. But this time, she's trading shiny, gold crop tops and chain jewelry for pieces with a bit more mass-market appeal: She's the newest face of H&M's 2015 holiday collection. The Swedish retailer has a history of recruiting big-name musicians for its ads, from Beyoncé to Lana Del Rey to last year's unexpected duo, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett. However, snagging Perry is arguably the brand's biggest coup yet — although she hasn't released an album since 2013's Prism, the pop mogul has still remained firmly in the spotlight. Not only did she top Forbes' list of the richest celebrities, Perry boasts one of the largest social media followings ever, with 23.8 million fans on Instagram (where, not-so-coincidentally, she teased the ad this morning). Although the singer partnered with H&M in 2009 on the Fashion Against Aids collection, these new Daniel Jackson-lensed holiday images mark her debut as the brand's solo face. “H&M was one of the places where I first began cultivating my personal style," Perry told WWD. "I have continued to love integrating H&M pieces into my wardrobe throughout the years. One of the reasons I love the holidays is being able to dress cozy and cute, which H&M executes so well for every budget.” While there's only one photo released so far, expect plenty more teasers from Perry these coming months. After all, if there's one thing that can get us thinking about bundling up for winter when it's still July (and 90 degrees outside), it's this.
