This Arby’s Tribute To Jon Stewart Is The Funniest Thing You’ll See Today

Arby's may have been on the receiving end of some none-too-flattering jokes from Jon Stewart over the course of his tenure at The Daily Show, but to the fast-food chain, Stewart is a "pal and a confidant." Set to the Golden Girls theme, an ad from the sandwich purveyor reminisces about some of Stewart's digs at the company, including "come for the tweets, run from the meats," and "it's like shock and awe for your bowels." The commercial concludes with the line: "Not sure why, but we'll miss you." (This seems to be a common sentiment among Stewart's foes: Bill O'Reilly published a written appreciation of Stewart over on Deadline.)

Now, we must ask the ultimate question: Is Jon the Dorothy of this Arby's saga? Does that make Arby's Rose? Who's taking on the roles of Blanche and Sophia? Another Arby's ad reveals a new sandwich ("with double corned beef and deli mustard on marble rye") created especially "for Jon." It adds, "but it's also for all of us to eat at Arby's whenever the sad thoughts come back."
The brand also saluted Stewart on Twitter, writing: "Sometimes Jon's jokes about us were hard to digest, but we kept watching #TheDailyShow anyway. #JonVoyage." A GIF of Stewart gagging accompanies the tweet. Stewart's final episode of The Daily Show airs tonight.
