Wait, Did Kristen Stewart Just Say She Wants To Reboot Twilight?

People of the internet: Kristen Stewart is hip to your bullshit clickbait game. She predicted this would happen. Recently, the actress sat down with her American Ultra co-star Jesse Eisenberg to talk to Mike Ryan from Uproxx. They discussed how eager journalists use press junket interviews for quick and easy ways to get clicks by manipulating quotes out of context. Take, for example, what Stewart says to Uproxx about a potential Twilight reboot. "Speaking of big franchises, do you care if Twilight is rebooted?" Ryan asks. "Are they saying that they have to redo them? Like, we have to do them again?" Stewart replies. "It feels just like talk right now, but everything popular eventually gets rebooted," Ryan says. "Right. I was so genuinely, heavily entrenched in that, and not in a way that felt like an obligation. Even though after the first one, which stood alone, it lasted a long time. It’s hard to speak to a five-year period in a few sentences, but I loved doing it. But that doesn’t mean I want to keep doing it. But if other people? Yeah, sure. To be honest with you: I would be interested. I’d be kind of fascinated, but it wouldn’t emotionally affect me one way or the other," Stewart answers. Please note that she didn't say that she would be in the Twilight reboot. Stewart merely said that she'd be interested in seeing other people in a new Twilight film. Here's the portion of that quote that was lifted across the internet: "To be honest with you: I would be interested," Stewart is quoted as saying in this article in Marie Claire U.K. It did not link Stewart's quote back to an original source, and instead just chose to interpret it at face value. "In what could possibly be the weirdest move ever, Kristen Stewart has revealed that she would be interested in making another Twilight film," the site reads, before continuing on to a list of reasons why another Twilight movie with the original cast would be weird. Yes, it would, but that's not what Stewart was talking about. "[T]hey’re just using you opportunistically to get hits on their website," Stewart told Ryan during their Uproxx interview. She's onto you, internet. She's also not going to be in any sort of Twilight reboot, but again, she's interested in seeing one with other people. (Uproxx)
