Glorious Sky Pool Or Terrifying Human Aquarium? You Decide

Imagine a world where you could swim over to hang out with your friend who lives in the next building — all while floating 10 stories up in the air, with only 20 centimeters of glass separating you from certain peril. Yes, it sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie. But thanks to an insane new project by Arup Associates for Ballymore Group, it will soon be a reality. "My vision for the sky pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering," said Ballymore Group chairman and CEO, Sean Mulryan, in a press release. "I wanted to do something that had never been done before."

Well, we'd say that he succeeded. The glass-bottomed pool, which is part of Embassy Gardens’ new Battersea development, is unlike anything that we've ever seen. Now, all we need is £602,000 to grab one of the luxury flats in the building. (Other perks of the £15 billion complex include a sky deck with a spa, bar, and orangery.) Look for the project's unveiling in late 2018.
