It is at times tempting to think everything is always sunshine and roses for Kim Kardashian West. After all, the happily married selfie queen has 42 million plus Instagram followers, looks amazing with or without makeup, and even has the confidence to bare it all while pregnant with baby number two. But conceiving that much-wanted second child with husband Kanye West was not as simple as it seemed. The reality star, who has acknowledged experiencing fertility struggles in the past, opens up to C Magazine about the complications that took "the fun out of" trying to get pregnant for the second time, People reports. "I had so many complications," Kardashian told the magazine. "I had this condition called placenta accreta." (According to the Mayo Clinic, placenta accreta is a serious pregnancy condition that involves blood vessels and other parts of the placenta growing into the uterine wall.) "There were a couple little operations to fix all that, so that created a little hole in my uterus, which I think made it really tough to get pregnant again." But the mama of miss North West was determined to give her fashionable toddler a sibling, whatever the efforts required. "It was a long road. I would go to the doctor in Beverly Hills every day at five in the morning to get tested to see if I was ovulating," she explained, going on to admit that keeping strict track of when she was ovulating took "the fun out of" getting pregnant. As for Kanye — well, it seems the rapper was on call. "I’m like, ‘I’m ovulating, get home now!,'" Kardashian remembered. "He’d be like, ‘Wait, I’m in the studio..." And while we all now know that this ended well for the famous family, who are currently expecting a baby boy, we must salute Kardashian on behalf of the millions of women facing fertility issues every day. You are not alone.
