Looks like at least some stars were on good terms at the VMAs: During Nicki Minaj's medley, which opened up the show, she brought out Taylor Swift.
Remember: Minaj and Swift had a public misunderstanding after the nominations for this year's VMAs were announced. Minaj was tweeting about her frustration over how "Anaconda" was not nominated for Video of the Year when she wrote, "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year." Swift responded: "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.." Swift added: "If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on."
And while they made up on Twitter, there was still more reconciliation to come. It turns out Minaj was the one who would invite Swift up on stage.
As Minaj performed "The Night Is Still Young" at the start of the show, suddenly, Swift rose onto the stage. The two eventually segued into a rendition of Swift's "Bad Blood," an ironic choice given the circumstances.
At the end of the performance the two pop stars — both clad in sparkling red outfits — hugged. You can watch the entire performance here.
