Blue Ivy’s #BeyDay Card Is Everything

Beyoncé's birthday, a.k.a. BeyDay, is a gift that keeps on giving. Of course, we loved celebrating Queen Bey's special day like it was a national holiday — which it really should be, right? Better yet, it offered an intimate glimpse into Beyoncé's life as a caring, connected (and sometimes matching) mom. First up, Blue Ivy's contribution to the family birthday playlist made us misty-eyed. Her Little Mermaid soundtrack selection, "Part of Your World," closed out the heartfelt mixtape with the caption: "Mommy, you sung this to me all the time! Happy Birthday, Mommy!" Later in the BeyDay evening, Beyoncé shared Blue Ivy's birthday drawing and we melted. Again. While Beyoncé is the #1 R&B goddess and fierce female to all of us, Blue Ivy's the only person out there who can call her #1 Mom. Judging by the dotted trace marks, this wasn't a hasty work of art. Just like any not-world-famous little girl making a homemade card for her mama, the 3-year-old seemed to take her BeyDay drawing very seriously.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all my birthday wishes. ????

Also, not to read too much into it, but we're also guessing Blue Ivy's favorite colors are purple, orange, and green. Bold choice, Blue — like mother, like daughter already. And considering Beyoncé's choice to showcase it as her public thank you for all the BeyDay wishes, it's clear that being the Queen might be a nice title, but #1 Mom trumps it all.
