Katy Perry Is A Slapstick Mad Max In This Burning Man Segway Fail

Katy Perry went to Burning Man this weekend and seemed an awful lot like she wanted to look like warrior Imperator Furiosa taking on Fury Road. Unfortunately — or, rather, very fortunately for us and anyone who likes laughing — she had a little problem with her mode of transportation. In a hilarious video posted to her Instagram, Perry is seen taking on the Nevada desert storm in full Mad Max regalia: her white fur coat, combat boots, and face mask. Seconds into the video, she's jumping on a Segway trying to show off some cool spins as tribal music plays behind her. But after successfully completing one rotation out in the Black Rock Desert, she loses all control of her vehicle and has to chase it down as it speeds off without her. Perry, never afraid to show off her dorkier side, wasn't ashamed of her Segway fail. She captioned the clip "obvious first time burner alert." Maybe she has more in common with the nerdy headgear-wearing alter ego she played in her "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" video than we thought.

??obvious first time burner alert??

Perry's not the only celeb enjoying Burning Man this weekend, Susan Sarandon was also spotted in the desert carrying around some of the ashes of the late father of LSD, Timothy Leary. Sarandon took her friend's remains to a temporary church to burn as part of the installation. "I think he'd be so happy. I think he would have loved the chaos [of Burning Man]. He would have loved it," Sarandon said, according to USA Today. "And all these people honoring him with LSD." Sounds like a wild time, wish we were there.
