Ellen Degeneres went on Howard Stern's radio show on Tuesday and the conversation took some interesting turns, to say the least. Their discussion ran the gamut from why she loves dancing to her thoughts on her recent interview with Caitlyn Jenner. But she also snuck in a little tidbit about a certain TV show she worked on back in 2010.
According to HitFix, Stern asked the comedian point-blank: "Did you hate judging American Idol?" Degeneres was blunt with her answer, responding, "Yes...that's one of the worst decisions I've made."
Pressed about why she took the job in the first place, Degeneres explained the disconnect. "As a fan of the shows, it doesn't matter that I sing or I know anything about pitch or anything, I'm like everybody else at home," she told Stern. "So I thought, I'm going to represent those people at home that have opinions...but then I just thought, like Howard says, I can't break this person's heart. Let somebody else do that."
So, there you have it folks: She thinks her one-season stint on the show was a total misfire. But hey, who doesn't have at least one of those on their résumé?
