Since coming onto the scene as a cute, freckle-faced 12-year-old, Kylie Jenner's made a name for herself as one of the biggest beauty chameleons in her family. From near-constant hair changes to suddenly plumped lips and va-va-voom lashes, she switches things around so often, we're all having a hard time "keeping up."
But, apart from the occasional sneak peek of her soon-to-launch makeup line on Instagram or in-process Snap of herself getting dolled up, she keeps her coveted products fairly under wraps. In fact, outside of lip pencils and contour kits, we're not exactly sure what's in the youngest Jenner's makeup bag. That is, we weren't until now.
The New York Times has revealed the 18-year-old's full beauty regimen — including everything from sunscreen to lip fillers. (The list is missing fragrance, though. "Fragrances can give me a bit of a headache," says Kylie.) The total cost of her beauty upkeep? It's hard to say for sure, but it does have a lot of zeros in it. We broke down all of her beauty buys, right here.
Skin Care: Kylie follows in the footsteps of her older sister, Kendall, and uses a face wash by their family's derm, Christie Kidd (which, it appears, you can only buy in-office). Her other go-tos for her dry, sensitive skin? TiZO3 sunscreen ($53.99), Super Salve Mimosa Blossom Dream Cream ($11.95), Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado ($47), Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($6.99), and Sephora Collection Face Masks ($6 each).
Makeup: "If I’m going to see people, I won’t wear heavy makeup. It’s not attractive on me," Kylie says. "When you see those pictures on my Instagram, they are usually for when I’m doing a photo shoot or an interview. Every time I get my makeup professionally done, I take a photo." Lipliner, a light foundation, bronzer, and lashes are the basics of her routine, she says. Her favorites are: Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation ($45), NARS Orgasm Blush ($30), Ardell Natural Wispies Eye Lashes ($9.99), Lancôme Hypnôse Drama mascara ($27.50), Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit ($40), Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer ($20), Kardashian Beauty Bronzer ($14.99), Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder ($38), Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighting Duo Pencil ($23), and Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup ($12.99).
Hair: Kylie's mane is the main (sorry, couldn't help it) feature the 18-year-old always changes, and she admits that her frequent switch-ups have taken a toll on her hair health. "I used to have really thick hair with a lot of body, but not anymore," she says. "About a year and a half ago, I cut it off, and then I kept bleaching it and dyeing it blue, so that damaged it a bit." She washes her hair every other day with Moroccanoil Shampoo ($24) and Conditioner ($25). Right now, price-wise, we're at $436.40 (plus the cost of the face wash) — not bad, not bad. But this number doesn't take into account the numerous services Kylie gets done by some of the best in the beauty biz. She gets her hair cut and extensions put in by celebrity hairstylist Priscilla Valles, she sees Daniel Moon (who also dyes Nicole Richie's hair) for color, Anastasia Soare herself plucks and shapes her eyebrows (along with all of her sisters') — which costs $120 for the initial appointment and $100 for follow-ups, spray tans come courtesy of Jimmy Coco (according to his site, they cost $350 per tan), Kimmie Kyees creates her stiletto nails, and Simon Ourian, MD, is responsible for those now-famous Juvederm lip treatments, which generally cost around $725. Based on only the prices we know for sure, the number skyrockets to $1,631 — plus the cost of hair color, extensions, and haircut (which, together, New York City hairstylist Matt Fugate estimates could be between $1,500 and $4,000, depending on the services and extensions), as well as specialty nails (likely upwards of $150). We've reached out to Kylie's stylists for the exact prices of their services, but we're looking at an approximate final sum — not including repeated services — of $3,300, on the low end (which is close to what Teen Vogue guesstimated). Either way, we can't say we're surprised that being a Kardashian/Jenner sister comes with a hefty price tag — are you?
