In case you don't already have it marked on your calendar, September 19 is Talk Like A Pirate Day. What does Talk Like A Pirate Day have to do with free doughnuts? Everything, thanks to a fun tradition at Krispy Kreme. If you show up at Krispy Kreme today and literally "talk like a pirate," you'll get a glazed doughnut gratis. (Just throw a few "Arrrrrrs" in there and you'll be fine.) But, if you want to take things a step further, you can opt for dressing up like a pirate. Putting on a costume will get you a dozen glazed doughnuts for free. If you're wondering what exactly pirate garb entails, Krispy Kreme is actually very specific about its conditions. Patrons must be wearing at least three of the following clothing items: eye patch, pirate hat, pirate flag, bandana, peg leg, parrot on shoulder, pirate shirt/loose white shirt, knickers, leather belt, silver and gold necklaces and earrings, pirate hook, pointy black boots, or ragged brown sandals. We could probably get to three of these without looking anything like a pirate; however, we're not exactly sure how that would go over.
