Zooey Deschanel has a new girl, which means New Girl needs a new girl. Got that?
Nick, Winston, and Schmidt will be getting a new female roomie on this season of New Girl to account for Deschanel's maternity leave. The actress announced the birth of her daughter in August, and will be taking some time off to bond with her baby girl.
We're not sure the boys will mind all that much. Her temporary replacement will be Megan Fox. Yes, Schmidt should probably put a $50 in the douchebag jar right now.
Fox's multi-episode arc will begin with the sixth episode of the fifth season, which will premiere in January 2016. According to a press release from Fox, she'll play Reagan, a "gorgeous, straight-shooting" pharmaceutical sales rep who rents out Jess' room while the "adorkable" roomie is sequestered on jury duty.
“It’s insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it,” executive producer Liz Meriwether said in a statement. “I’ve been a fan of her comedic skills since This is 40, and I’m so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part — she’s the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up.”
Hold up. What? Of course women can be funny and gorgeous. We can't believe a woman who works with Zooey Deschanel every day just said that. But, never mind. The important thing here is that Fox will once again get to show off her comedic chops. Can't wait to see her try her hand at True American.
