You learn all sorts of interesting fun facts while watching the Emmys red carpet. No, not just what actresses are wearing. Although luckily, thanks to campaigns like #SmartGirlsAsk and #AskHerMore, that question is increasingly becoming an afterthought. You also learn what might have been. Jane Krakowski let an amazing part of her career history slip during her interview with Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet before the 2015 Emmy Awards. Krakowski is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for playing Manhattan socialite Jacqueline Voorhees on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. She was previously nominated four times for playing the self-obsessed and insecure Jenna Maroney on 30 Rock. Even though she hasn't won, Krakowski's characters are fan-favorites. These shows, which were both created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, wouldn't be the same without her. Still, in an alternate universe, things might have been a little different. You see, once upon a time, Jane Krakowski auditioned to play a character named Rachel Green in a pilot called Friends. "I wish I had gotten that one...My business manager is very sad that I didn't," she said to Rancic on the red carpet. Instead, the role went to then-unknown Jennifer Aniston, while Krakowski went on to become an integral part of Tina Fey's comedy universe. Sometimes things have a way of working out exactly the way they should.
