Taylor Swift Sings ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ With Steven Tyler

When Taylor Swift made her latest 1989 tour stop in Nashville fans probably wondered just which country superstar would join her onstage. Would she bring up Miranda Lambert? Maybe Blake Shelton? Nope, she brought Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler. The two — who may seem like an odd couple until you realize they are both signed to the label Big Machine — took the stage together to perform the over-the-top power ballad "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing" that Tyler's band Aerosmith sang for the 1998 movie Armageddon. You know, the disaster flick that had Ben Affleck trying to save the world by stopping an asteroid the size of Texas from hitting the Earth? Not to mention, featuring Tyler's actress daughter, Liv. The duo tried their best to hit those high notes in harmony as pyrotechnics went off behind them, but we've got to be honest here, it wasn't everything we hoped for and more. Instead it was a bit of a shrug. Though we do hope the catchphrase "Holy Swift!" catches on immediately, thanks to Tyler's tweet thanking the pop star for inviting him up on stage with her.

It's not that the performance was all that bad, we just wish the two wouldn't have been so spot-on choosing this cheesy '90s track — especially since Swift already expressed her immense love for it back in 2002 — and instead threw us a curveball in the way of covering Aerosmith and Run DMC's "Walk This Way." Now that would have been something we wouldn't have wanted to miss. But if Taylor and Tyler's duet didn't give you all the feels you hoped for, Swift did bring out Alison Krauss to sing her 1994 song "When You Say Nothing At All" and her new BFF Kelsea Ballerini to perform her 2014 single "Love Me Like You Mean It." Some true girl squad love right there.
