UPDATE: Hadid’s Instagram post earlier today blasting fat-shamers really resonated with some fellow models. Since the note went up on Hadid’s feed this morning, Tyra Banks, Ashley Graham, and Kendall Jenner (as well as Kris Jenner) all voiced their support on social media of Hadid and her body-positive message. “I haven't met you yet @gigihadid but I FEEL you so much. Your words are powerful. Your words are necessary. Your words are vulnerable. Your words are real. Sending you love and hugs. From one model that had curves and a unique walk to another, Tyra,” Banks wrote in her repost of Hadid’s note.

No one is completely exempt from fat-shaming, apparently — not even a beautiful model adored by the fashion crowd. Gigi Hadid has had an extremely successful couple of years with both luxury and mass audiences — booking campaigns, scoring major magazine covers and editorial shoots, and walking in huge shows. But that hasn’t stopped social media trolls from weighing in about Hadid’s healthy, just slightly curvy physique. Hadid took a classy, articulate approach when responding to these body-image misanthropes: She posted the below note on Instagram this morning. Yes, I have boobs, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment. I’m fitting into the same sample sizes. Your mean comments don’t make me want to change my body, they don’t make me want to say no to the designers that ask me to be in their shows, and they definitely don’t change the designers opinions of me. Hadid even attributes her success to not being pin-thin: “If I didn’t have the body I do," she explains, "I wouldn’t have the career I do. I love that I can be sexy. I’m proud of it.” She also made it clear that she isn’t going to get deterred by her body-shaming critics. “If you don’t like me, don’t watch me, cause I’m not going anywhere,” she wrote.
