Nicki Minaj is coming to a television near you. According to a press release sent out by ABC Family, "The half-hour comedy is based on Minaj and her family’s immigration from Trinidad in the early 1990’s. It will focus on her growing up in Queens with her vibrant family and the personal and musical evolution that led to her eventual rise to stardom."
Minaj, who will also appear on the show, teased the announcement this morning on Twitter. Many fans tried to guess what it was. One even speculated about a pregnancy which was met with a sad emoji response from Minaj.
There is a lot to get excited about. For starters, between the throwback fashion and Minaj's own personal style, the '90s look will surely be cranked up to 11. The pilot has been written by Kate Angelo, who has worked on Will & Grace and Bernie Mac. This one will definitely be a show to add to your already packed "to watch" list.
