Superhero loyalty is thicker than blood — at least in the Pratt household. In a new interview, Star-Lord himself, Chris Pratt, explained that his son's favorite superhero isn't his dad's Marvel character, it's a certain friendly neighborhood web-slinger.
Even though Pratt's got one Guardians of the Galaxy movie under his belt and the next is set to have its U.S. premiere in just a few days, his 4-year-old son, Jack, says that his superhero of choice is Spider-Man.
"He knows the first part of the film. I don’t know if he thinks it is cool but he has seen the movies that I am in. He knows that I am Star-Lord," Pratt explained to Bollywood Helpline. "But as a matter of fact when I ask him ‘who is your favorite superhero Star-Lord’, he says ‘no Spider-Man’. He just likes Spider-Man better."

While Guardians fans love Star-Lord for his irreverent attitude, his wise-cracking demeanor, and his awesome taste in space jams, that's just not enough to sway a kid. But wait, does little Jack know that his pops plays a human-alien hybrid? That's got to count for something, right? Let's not forget his sweet element guns and rocket-boosted boots. No? What about his motley crew, which includes a talking raccoon and a sentient tree? Okay, fine, kids will be kids and like what they like.
"I don’t know if he fully understands what makes Star-Lord great because Star-Lord doesn’t really have any superpowers. Star-Lord can’t fly or shoot webs out of his hand," Pratt continued. "I think he is more into superpowers."
There is some good new for Jack, however. Thanks to Marvel's super-complicated web of films, he'll have a chance to see his dad and his favorite superhero on the screen at the same time. All of Marvel's films, which include the Avengers franchise and the Guardians of the Galaxy characters, will collide with the release of Avengers: Infinity War. Maybe some screen time with Spider-Man will be enough to lift Star-Lord out of his status as a second-rate superhero for the little Pratt.
