Anyone who thought their friendship with Meghan Markle would get them a behind-the-scenes look at the royal family better think again. The actress has opted not to have a maid of honor for her upcoming wedding to Prince Harry. People reports that Markle had decided that she simply cannot choose between her many friends — which is a very diplomatic approach, IMO.
"She has a very close-knit circle of friends and she didn’t want to choose one over another," a palace spokesman told the magazine. "All have been actively involved in helping her prepare for the day and will be there in the days beforehand. She’s very happy to have their support."

And as we know, Markle's friends are very supportive. It turns out, they even hid her and Prince Harry in their houses when news of their relationship first broke. It only makes sense that she wants to repay the favor by giving them all equal recognition in her upcoming nuptials and not playing favorites. After all, who needs a maid of honor when you presumably have a whole team of English aristocrats organizing your happy day?
Markle and Prince Harry will officially tie the knot on May 19. Until then, if she ever changes her mind about that maid of honor position, she can avoid offending her friends by instead picking someone she doesn't know at all: me.
