Why Bachelor Spoilers Are Still Almost Impossible To Nail Down This Year

It's been over a month since the bold promise was made that there wouldn't be any Bachelor spoilers about Peter Weber's season. Peter himself made that declaration in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he mentioned famed Bachelor spoiler site Reality Steve (run by blogger Stephen Carbone) by name. "I'm very confident that Reality Steve and all of these people, they're not going to find out what happens — there's no way they're going to find out," Peter said. "I'm excited for everyone to just come along for the journey and not know what happens at the end, and just be able to live it out with me."

It's true that Reality Steve doesn't have the answers about Peter's ending — that is, who he definitely ends up with and how it all played out — but he does have almost everything else if you choose to believe his claims. Every season, Steve drops a full rose ceremony-by-rose ceremony spoiler list of who gets which dates where and who will go home and when. So far, most of his spoilers about those events have been right on the money (he was wrong that Victoria Paul eliminated herself, but was right about the timing of her departure). That leads credence to his spoiler about who the final two women are (which you can read here). Steve claims to now know that Peter is not single, so it's likely that he's with one of those two women.
And just in case you were holding out for Peter and Hannah Brown to get back together, maybe don't. In mid-January Steve wrote on his blog, "Hannah Brown is not part of the remainder of Peter's season. Never shows up again, she’s not part of the final rose ceremony, and they aren’t secretly dating." Womp womp.
For a long time the theory had been that the preview of Peter's mom sobbing and saying, "Don't let her go. Bring her home to us" was her speaking about Hannah B. But Peter later confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that this moment comes "in the last week" meaning it's more likely to have something to do with his mom's strong opinion on one of his final two options. Conceivably, she could still be speaking about Hannah B., but Steve, at least, is claiming that her story with Peter has concluded.

Initially, when Steve was unable to get confirmation about Peter's ending, he wondered if that was because it hadn't been filmed yet. "I can't spoil something that hasn’t happened yet," he wrote at the time. However, Steve doesn't think Peter will be deciding between his final two on After the Final Rose like some had speculated after host Chris Harrison teased that "it's possible [the show is] still not over." Instead, Steve now believes that Peter bragging about a spoiler-free season was less about who he ends up with, and more about how everything gets to that point. "Who he’s with isn’t gonna be as hard to find out as to HOW we get to that point, because there is some messiness late in the season," Steve wrote.
That would line up with everything Harrison has teased about the season. In another interview with Entertainment Tonight, the host talked about those dramatic opening moments in the season that flashed ahead to the final rose ceremony. In that scene, Harrison told Peter, "There's something I just found out." Later, Peter was shown saying, "It's just like the last thing I needed to hear." Harrison told ET about the news, "It's something that none of us saw coming, Peter and I included, and it's just something we had to deal with on the fly." He added, "It's a wild finish. It is a season that got turned on its head and is an emotional, dramatic finish."

Because of that "wild" aspect of the ending, Steve hasn't been able to release his traditional finale spoiler post. He recently wrote that he has gotten some information, but not enough to be able to explain both who Peter is with and how it ended up that way.
As of Feb. 5, Steve still didn't have the full picture, writing that he just wasn't confident enough in the information he has to tell the full story. He did re-iterate that he believed that Peter is "with someone." There's still half a season of time left for Steve to get the full picture and put it on his blog. If he does get the spoiler, ABC probably won't be too upset about it. In the aforementioned Harrison ET interview, Bachelor executive producer Martin Hilton brushed off any concerns about Reality Steve or someone spoiling Peter's season. "In all my years of doing it, it's always somehow been spoiled," he said. "For me, it's actually sometimes free publicity, honestly. Because I think people watch anyway, and the same way you know how a Disney movie is going to end when you start watching it, people still watch it, because you want to see the journey."
Harrison is known for his hyperbole, but if Peter's season really does have the "wild … emotional, dramatic finish" that the host promised, then fans are sure to tune in — whether Steve does eventually get all the pieces to the finale spoilers or not.
