Without a doubt, United Bamboo is our favorite fashion label named after a nefarious multinational Pacific-Rim crime cartel. Triad allusions or no, the brand, created by Miho Aoki and Thuy Pham always expresses a certain lightness in mood (if not fabrication and style). Perhaps no longer as edgy as their early collections, the most recent spring/summer offerings by the duo are bright, charming, and well-constructed. Sure, you may be scanning the looks above and remarking that the line up looks like a technicolor version of the crowd at that Vampire Weekend show last September. Look again—most of these separates (a double-breasted white jacket excepted) simply aren't going to date or age. It may be casting forward further than most farmer's almanacs are willing to go, but with their palate and choice of patterns, these menswear separates should last you through next summer and beyond.
