How do French and American beauty looks compare? How do they differ?
"I guess American and French beauties, are both pretty natural. You know, beach girls don’t brush their hair; French girls don’t brush their hair...But then at the same time, I feel like American girls in big cities such as NYC or L.A. are more careful regarding little details like your nails. You can’t find many nail salons in Paris. Americans girls are just a lot more aware of beauty stuff and French girls are much more natural."
What's been your biggest beauty adjustment since relocating to NYC?
"Well, I have been dying my hair a lot. I dyed it blond for Chloé and then I decided to go brown, and then my agency hated it so I dyed it back to blond. And then during the holidays I dyed it pink and then back to blond. I’m planning on doing it blue maybe, we’ll see. I guess I see a lot of hair dressers!"
What are some of your favorite beauty products?
"My must-have beauty product is my Embryolisse moisturizer. I also wear the Chloé signature fragrance — I find its rosy smell very sexy and playful. I got it when I was seventeen and have worn it ever since. Now, for summer days, I think I will probably switch to L’Eau de Chloé. It stays in the same line as the Signature but with a fresher facet which I love."
What's one beauty trend that completely baffles you?
"I am not really into extensions. I feel like in the States, a lot of girls have a lot of hair extensions — they don’t look very natural. I don’t like French manicures or square shape nails. Also, the worst is super hard-core plucked eyebrows — that I can’t deal with."
We love your freckles — do you have any beauty tips for freckly-faced girls on how to enhance and complement them?
"I just wear sunscreen. I feel like a little rosy cheek is cute with the freckles though."
How do you describe your beauty look? Can you take us through a typical morning of getting ready?
"My beauty look is pretty casual. In the morning I drink a big glass of water with lemon and a pinch of baking soda and maple syrup. I splash my face with water and put on either Embryolisse Hydrating Orange Cream or Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Day Cream."
What's the absolute best piece of beauty advice that was ever given to you, and who gave it to you?
"My mom: [Because of her], I never forget to take my makeup off at night. You know, I look crazy when I go to bed; I have such a thick layer of moisturizer on. Actually, I bought this new thing called Egyptian Magic, it’s this awesome compact oil which heats up in your hand and you put it on your face. I use it at night only because you look really greasy, but it is good for my very dry skin."
