The beauty industry is notoriously a tease when it comes to products used during Fashion Week — we lust after the makeup looks, only to discover they are custom blends that won't be going into production. Not so at Karen Walker's spring '12 show: Clinique and Global Colour Artist Jenna Menard created a coral lip hue for the show, but unlike other custom cosmetics backstage, this one will be available for purchase.
"I chose bright coral because it's less expected than red," explained Menard. Having seen this color up close, we can attest that it's just as stunning in person as it was on the runway. It's pigment rich and quite vivid — not at all what you are used to seeing from the brand and their usual barely-there lipsticks. While Clinique is being awesome and sharing this gem with the public, it's not a permanent shade: Runway Coral will be available for a limited time as an online exclusive starting this May. Looks like it's time to start hoarding.
Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Runway Coral, $15, available in May at Clinique.com.
