If there's a man who can bring together the masses—from grunge guy to girly guy and all the iterations in between—it's 3.1 Phillip Lim. Never boring, and always wearable, 3.1. Phillip Lim is a buyer's delight as he creates massively appealing pieces that feel super special, yet never look ridiculous. His '70-disco-inspired fall 2010 show didn't disappoint. Our takeaways: Firstly, flared pants are coming back in a big way, so blow the dust off your bells and start thinking of ways to wear them again. Secondly, comfy fashion is making their way back in: Blanket skirts, fuzzy dresses, and soft shearling, and capes that looked way chicer than a Snuggie, but kept you just as warm. And third: Get the '70s disco vibe with mini sequins, shearling coats, and Farrah Fawcett hair though please avoid if you've got anything shorter than shoulder-length—note the disastrous effects on poor Tao who looks like the mother from That '70s Show. That's a look that should stay firmly in the past.
