Mr. Lim, how do we love thee...oh, let us count the outfits. This particular Fashion Week was riddled with highs and lows, and after a bad run of disappointments (whom will remain unnamed), 3.1 Phillip Lim reminded us what fun it is to wear beautiful clothes and cook up inspiring outfits. We loved the decadent caramel leather trousers paired with more tailored gray wool—a perfect example of the kind modern luxury young women love. Another highlight was a series of minimalist gowns and dresses whose silky fabric stood away from the body in just the right way. The color palette touched on lots of classic fall tones, and we loved the quirky contrasts (warm gold and camel with navy, and little pops of dusty pink and Yves Klein blue). A few filmy dresses armed with studded sleeves had our hearts palpitating, and again, that Lim attention to opposing forces had a very chic affect. Even if spring is right around the corner, fall/winter can't get here soon enough.
