The Tennis Skirt
There's going to the club and then there's going to the country club and while we like to see and be seen at both, there's very little you can wear to both. But maybe the inspiration comes from the most obvious (or unlikely) piece in your closet — the tennis skirt. Sure it may have a swoosh on it, but all the more reason to put on those heeled sneaks and rock it out. We promise the fit and the new take on all-white will leave the score 40-love. Sorry, we had to.
See by Chloe Wedge Sneakers, $410.52 (were $513.15), available at ASOS; Deer Dana Prince Harry Tee, $60, available at Opening Ceremony; In God We Trust Cage Studs, $320, available at In God We Trust; Nike Tie Break Tennis Skirt, $37.90 (was $58), available at Nordstrom.
The Chino
With colored denim coming back strong, why not go with a colored chino for summer? It's much more lightweight which means comfort. Only thing is, you've got to keep it cool with the other pieces so that you don't look like yo' mama dressed you. We suggest going with a print and some edged-out jewelry to offset the otherwise buttoned-up look a chino can create.
Whether you consider yourself a prep or not, chances are you probably have a polo laying around somewhere for some reason. And there's a way to put it to go use. Just like with the chino, we recommend making the piece a bit more hardcore. Work it with printed pants and your most rocker heels and we promise the collar will become a welcomed part of the look. Plus, you know we like layering with jewelry. Stick on a statement bib necklace and you've got yourself a polished outfit to wear anywhere.
